我一直笃信，我们这一代人，听过欧美音乐没听过艾薇尔，一定是不完整的。我自己就是一个鲜活的例子，通过艾薇尔，我知道，除了摇滚，还有一种风格也是动次打次的，节奏更轻快，清晰的声线，舒服的吉他...
第一次听到她的歌，《Tomorrow》还是《My world》吧，当时看律政俏佳人，1还是2不记得了，中间有一段插曲，瞬间被洗脑，感觉被召唤着再听一次，当即谷歌了一下（呃，谷歌是什么？现在我不记得了），然后买下了我第一张朋克CD，《LET GO》，接下来，自然是《Under My Skin》，被这个穿着不是嘻哈的嘻哈，据说高中就自编自唱，画着烟熏妆，一脸轻蔑的金发妹迷住了。
也是从这之后，才开始陷入朋克的漩涡，无法自拔，什么Oasis，Green Day，Sex Pistol， Sum41，Deep Purple之类。这确实是一个时代的来临！
艾薇尔每张专辑的感觉都变化挺大的，至少前面几张是这样，从《Let Go》的经典朋克，到了《Under My Skin》加入了更多的电子乐器元素，再后来的就开始逐渐流行、抒情了，当然，前面几张也不乏大量口水歌，或者翻唱。尤其是翻唱绿日的《Basket Case》，直接简单粗暴的把“he”换成了“she”就搞定，这一点和卡朋特翻唱甲壳虫有的Mr. Postman有得一拼！
